Chapter 21: No Matter Who You Ask, They Wont Find You (5)

Wu's assistant reacted quickly and stepped on the brake, the wheels scraping against the ground with a sharp, ear-piercing sound.

After the car stopped, the carriage was eerily quiet, and the temperature seemed to have dropped to freezing point. Wu's assistant even held his breath unconsciously.

After a while, he carefully raised his eyes and secretly glanced at the big BOSS's expression through the rearview mirror, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat.

The big BOSS has always been introverted, with emotions rarely revealed. Whether he's happy or angry, it's hard to tell, but now his handsome face is gloomy, his thin lips pursed into a cold and hard line, his whole body exuding a subtle chill that reveals just how furious he is.

This was still his first time seeing him not hiding his emotions at all, and... it was because of Miss Su again.

He had a feeling that something was off between Big Boss and Miss Su at the banquet earlier, and it seems he wasn't wrong.

So who is this Miss Su, after all? Why can she stir up his emotions like that?

Wu's assistant thought for a moment, suddenly thought of something, and his expression changed slightly in surprise.

He had been following him for many years and naturally knew that he always wore a lady's ring on his neck. He once whispered in a low voice after getting drunk, wanting to propose with this ring, but couldn't give it away.

So, is this Miss Su going to be the woman hidden in Big BOSS's heart, the owner of the ring?

Wu's assistant was still thinking when Pei Muni had already pushed the door open and got out of the car, then opened the driver's seat door and said: "You get out!"

Wu's assistant quickly regained his composure, unfastened his seatbelt and got out of the car.

Pei Mu Nian sat in the car, fastened his seatbelt, and then threw a sentence at Assistant Wu, "You go back yourself." Then he started the engine, turned the steering wheel, stepped on the accelerator, and the car headed back the way it came.

Wu's assistant stood by the side of the road, watching as the car drove further and further away, shaking his head slightly. It seemed that he had guessed eight or nine out of ten correctly.

  -

When Pei Muniang returned to where they were just now, Su Wannan was no longer there. He slowed down the car and drove while involuntarily looking around, finally seeing her at a traffic light intersection up ahead.

He didn't drive up front, but instead drove slowly and followed her from a distance.

She seemed to be crying, her shoulders kept shaking, and from time to time she raised her hand to wipe away tears.

Pei Mu Nian's hands suddenly gripped the steering wheel tightly, and the veins on the back of his hand bulged slightly.

He didn't believe Su Wanwan was sincere, but Su Wanwan's sincerity... seemed to have really been given to Gong Lingyu.

Knowing this fact was more infuriating and... distressing than knowing that Su Wanwan had married Ling Yu for the sake of the Su family.

She can love Gong Lingyu now, so why couldn't she have loved him back then?

  -

Su Wanwan returned to the Su residence when it was already quite late, and Su Zhenhua had fallen asleep.

She quietly returned to her room, feeling physically and mentally exhausted, and collapsed onto the bed, but despite being very tired, she couldn't sleep, tossing and turning.

Her chest felt stuffy, as if something was pressing down on her, Su Wanwan couldn't breathe properly. She turned over and got up, walking to the window to open it.

When she opened the window, she saw a car driving away downstairs, and that car looked somewhat familiar...

Su Wan's heart skipped a beat, and she hastily opened her eyes wide, trying to see clearly. However, the night was too dark, and the car was speeding by too quickly. Before she could even remember to take a good look, the car had already merged into the deep twilight.

She stood still for a few seconds, shaking her head involuntarily. What was she thinking? How could that possibly be Pei Mochen's car? Was she still hoping that he would worry about her and follow her all the way back home?
