Chapter 23: No Matter Who You Look For, You Wont Find Him (7)

Su Zhenhua often takes Su Wanwan to attend various business gatherings, gets to know some people and expands her social circle. So she's already used to this kind of thing and didn't ask who it was, just nodded lightly and said: "Is it a formal occasion?"

"It's informal, just a private gathering, but you'd better dress up anyway."

  "I understand."

  -

At eight o'clock in the evening, the car arrived at Blackpool. Su Wanwan leaned on Su Zhenhua's arm and walked in slowly.

It was indeed a private gathering, with not many people attending, but Su Wanwan discreetly scanned the room, and even in high society, there are hierarchies. Tonight's attendees were all top-notch upper-class celebrities in L City, who not only had money and power but also had status and prestige.

They used to be in the same circle as the Su family, but now they are worlds apart.

Su Wanwan followed Su Zhenhua around the venue, occasionally stopping to chat with guests, and maintained a smile as she accompanied her grandfather. After a round of socializing, she couldn't help but feel a hint of fatigue between her eyebrows. She whispered to Su Zhenhua, "Grandfather, I'm a bit thirsty, can we go get a drink?"

"Go ahead, don't go too far, Grandpa will introduce you to someone later."

Su Wanwan didn't go to get a drink, but instead walked straight out to the balcony. To be honest, she didn't like this kind of occasion at all. Everyone's face seemed to be wearing an exquisite and fake mask, which always made people feel suffocated.

She originally wanted to go outside to get some fresh air, but just as she was about to push open the balcony door, she caught sight of a tall figure standing outside.

The night was somewhat hazy, with only a faint yellow glow emanating from the lights inside the venue, casting a dim light on the man's profile. Half of his face was hidden in the shadows, making it impossible to discern his features clearly.

Even so, Su Wanwan was still able to tell at a glance who this man was.

Su Wanwan's footsteps came to an abrupt halt, and she suddenly felt a little ridiculous.

In the past three years, she always wanted to see him again but never had the chance. Now, she doesn't want to see him anymore, yet no matter where she goes, she keeps running into him.

Su Wanwan withdrew her hand from the door and was about to leave quietly, but just as she turned around, Su Zhenhua had already brought a middle-aged man over, and Su Wanwan had no choice but to stop again.

Su Zhenhua first rushed towards the middle-aged man and said: "Director Chen, let me introduce you to my little granddaughter, Su Wanwan."

Then he rushed to Su Wanwan and said: "Wanwan, this is President Chen, that old friend Grandpa mentioned."

In other words, this Mr. Chen is intentionally approaching investors of the Su family.

"Hello, Mr. Chen, I'm Su Wanwan."

Mr. Chen saw Su Wanwan, gentle and beautiful, with the charm of a young woman and a bit of coquetry, his eyes lit up immediately, and he was not stingy in praising her, saying: "President Su, your granddaughter is really beautiful, you are blessed."

Su Zhenhua smiled proudly, but his words were very humble, "No, no."

As he spoke, he turned his head and said to Su Wanwan, "Wanwan, let's have a drink with President Chen."

Su Wanwan maintained her smile and responded obediently.

The sound of speech at the door seemed to have disturbed the tranquility outside the balcony, and the man slightly moved, turning his face sideways, and saw the familiar figure standing at the door.
